🔸 Types of Candles
Pillar Candles – Thick and cylindrical, free-standing.
Container Candles – Made in jars or cups.
Tea Light Candles – Small, round, and placed in metal cups.
Gel Candles – Transparent and often decorative.
Scented Candles – With added fragrance oils.
Soy Candles – Eco-friendly and made from soybean oil.
🔸 Materials Needed
Wax Types:
Paraffin wax (common and affordable)
Soy wax (natural)
Beeswax (natural and clean-burning)
Gel wax (for clear candles)
Wicks:
Cotton, wood, or pre-waxed wicks (based on candle size)
Fragrance Oils (optional)
Color Dyes (liquid or powder)
Containers or Moulds
Dried flowers, herbs, glitter (for decoration)
🔸 Tools Required
Double boiler or melting pot
Thermometer (to check wax temperature)
Stirring stick or spoon
Wick holder or stick
Scissors
Weighing scale
🔸 Basic Candle Making Process
Prepare Mould or Container
Fix the wick in center using glue or a wick holder.
Melt the Wax
Use a double boiler and heat wax until it’s melted (approx. 70–80°C depending on wax).
Add Color & Fragrance
Stir in dye and fragrance oil once melted.
Pour the Wax
Carefully pour into the container/mould. Keep wick centered.
Cool & Set
Let it cool at room temperature for 4–6 hours.
Trim the Wick
Once set, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch.
🔸 Safety Tips
Always work in a well-ventilated area.
Never leave melting wax unattended.
Use heat-resistant containers.
Avoid adding water to hot wax.
